Bhagavat Gita discusses advanced topics of acting in a Karma free blissful state – Pure Krishna Consciousness known as Devotional Service to Absolute Truth Sri Krishna. Where Divinity is to be realized in 2 major Aspects: 1. Impersonal or causeless – Brahman – Holy Spirit or all pervading light. 2. Personal or cause of all causes – the Form of Ultimate creator. The Supreme personality of Godhead is known to be Sri Krishna. Yes, there are other numerous forms and names of "Divine Father" however scripture clearly states that Sri Krishna is the Supreme form among others and all other forms emanate from him. In fact no scripture in entire creation dares to state otherwise. Also His Impersonal aspect - formless light– Brahma Joyti or Holy Spirit emanates from the transcendental form of Krishna Consciousness. As all material existence springs from his Impersonal aspect, sometimes diluted conditioned souls mistake the BrahmaJoyti (formless light) for the Ultimate source, but as they progress further they begin to realize transcendence in personal aspects of Krishna Consciousness - the origin of Brahman. As Sanjaya states in his expert opinion In Bhagavat Gita - Devotional Service to Krishna is the ultimate form of self realization. So if we condense meaning of all scripture to a single page then we naturally arrive to three major aspects of Transcendental Devotional Service:
1. Surrender (Saranagati) - Holy Engagement or Kanishta Bhakti.
Stage of engagement of material elements, body, mind, senses, intelligence, false ego, time, space in the transcendental, unmotivated, uninterrupted transformative process that is to be performed with enthusiasm. Yes, Devotion is grown from sentimental seeds, and similar to a seed forgoing transformation into a fully blossoming plant initial seed of Devotional sentiment is meant to forgo numerous transformations and one should be ready and inquisitive about such processes of focusing and directing attention. And that constitutes Ascension or "From below principal." Mere surrender to the State, Authority, scriptural code, etc., aren't forms of true surrender unless they are performed in a selfless state of consciousness. Only when Engagement is unmotivated then it’s pure and truly Holy, everything else is to be purified through Detachment.
2. Detachment (Vairagya) or Madhyam Bhakti.
So Surrender is meant to be performed for the sake of Detachment solely and not for any other reason. When a person starts seeing value in going beyond perception for the sake of higher - detachment begins and inner transmutation initiated. Simply put, the only thing we should surrender to is a pure form of selfless pursuits and that constitutes true surrender as selflessness is our true self (aham bramastmi). In practice it is acting without holding or attaching to anything by simply letting things "Come and go". Detachment means complete detachment even to God, his name, paraphernalia and high emotional states called Rasas. True Attachment to Krishna is only possible in complete detachment. Yes this is a bit of a hard topic for beginners to digest and can be only understood by the graces of the Supreme. True purpose of Detachment is to open a communication channel with "from Below" and "from Above" and it is a central core principal in all spiritual practices. Simply put one can't get diamonds when their hands are full with holding gold, first one has to empty their hands. Vairagya isn't withdrawal, mere abstinence or any form of cowardness. True detachment is in ability of remaining transparent yet unchanged in the midst of the most dramatic changes. Detachment is synonymous to superconductivity where a person has the quality of withstanding any amounts of emotional voltage without melt down or corrosion.
3. Grace aspect or Uttama Bhakti.
Necessitates by receiving the knowledge of Absolute within the partial Detached state. Grace can be only attained through inspiration and constitute "From Above principal". Grace can't reach a person in its attached state, as they block their own channels. So that explains why materialistically attached are closed to realization of Divinity or wholeness. Grace or Supreme knowledge is received through pure forms of faith(Shradha). It's important to note that pure (Nirguna) faith is an act of "Allowing" and "Opening " ourselves to the higher frequencies of consciousness. In pure form faith isn't just some intellectual conception or belief system (mentalism). Want of faith is another Anartha or – unwanted . Faith is neither emotionalism or display of enthusiasm. True Faith is a state of trancendental reception and achieved by acts of Allowing and openness to receiving what’s beyond our grasp - Stepping outside the black box, outside the vicious circles of problems and paradoxes. At the same time this is not escapism, but rather in ability of approaching problems and resolving paradoxes from the positive Solution perspective as if Solution is already being in place. From The Solution towards the problem, from "Above" towards "Below".
Devotional service to Krishna is free to everyone and can be naturally awaken through the process of chanting mantra as well as 9 processes of devotional service, among which congregational chanting of Hare Krishna mantra considered to be the most potent and the prescribed method of self realization for this age.
