Sri Chaitanya - the most magnanimous incarnation.
In Maha Nirvana Tantra Shiva speaks about Universal Chaitanya consciousness - the state of Achintya – inconceivable state when spirit soul doesn't lose its individuality, yet experience total oneness with the Supreme. Shiva also states that such Universal Love isn't known even to Vishnu himself as Vishnu is impartial, and for reaching achintya, one needs to regain partiality. But that only sets another Divine controversy (Lila), as there can't be something impossible for the Supreme. So as an answer to Shiva's talk, Visnu incarnates as Sri Chaitanya, to taste the highest state of Divine Love as Krishna's Devotee around 500 years ago. This event also coincides with spiritual reawakening of the Earth and the age of Renaissance, where Human individuality and Divinity are equally revered and harmoniously growing side by side. There were other Renaissance messiahs in other parts of the Earth, yet Sri Chaitanya stands out. And as we can see later, others were only preparing ground work for his message to spread as it was foretold in Vedas and is coming true now. In certain respects, some see him as a "second coming" as Sri Chaitanya's totalitarian Grace eclipses the Grace of Jesus Christ himself. Exalted Love and Grace principal is the most distinctive feature of Chaitanya's teaching that entirely reforms Vedic tradition, and sets in place a new school of thought. Emphasis is being given on focusing on Divine Inspiration descending even into the lowest realms of creation - from Above towards Below - initiating a huge shift of Universal consciousness on a mass scale. This is a Universal magnitude event, this can't be viewed as some exclusive narrow Hindu sectarian, but rather an all inclusive flow, where no one is left aside, everyone is affected in one degree or another.
Chaitanya's Achintya school of Grace doesn't deny the Old school, but rather fulfills it similar to Christianity that doesn't deny, but fulfills the Old Testament. So to state that he was a mere expander of some Brahma Gaudia Sampradaya or another initiate of Shankara sect, would be an understatement, as Chaitanya's true role was to revive a Yuga Dharma, or the prime method of Self realization, for the modern age, and He should be viewed from that Grander perspective.
And again (for starters) Chaitanya's teaching in its magnitude is broader then any carrier tradition or Sampradaya.
His message simply blows away any form of sectarianism and limitation.
Chaitanya's teachings are in his life, his dialogues recorded by his followers, and in his discovery and reintroduction of Brahma Samhita, as well as broad propagation of the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra.
